Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about Tradesteady and automated trading.
What is a webhook?
A webhook is a unique URL we give you. When you create an alert in TradingView, you paste this URL into the alert. When your strategy or indicator fires, TradingView sends a message to that URL. Tradesteady receives it and executes the trade on your connected exchange or MT5 account.
Do I need a TradingView paid plan?
For TradingView Automation: Yes. TradingView Basic (paid) or higher is required so alerts can send webhook messages.
For Copy Trading (Spot, Futures, MT5): No. We run the strategy; you only connect your exchange API or MT5. No TradingView subscription needed.
What is a “route” or “destination”?
A route is where a trade goes when an alert is received. For example: “Send this alert to Binance Spot” or “Send to my MT5 account.” You create routes in the dashboard (Destinations tab) and link them to a webhook. One webhook can have multiple routes (e.g. MT5 + Binance).
Is my API key safe?
API keys are stored encrypted. We only use the permissions you grant (e.g. read + spot trading, no withdrawals). We never have withdrawal access. You can revoke keys anytime from your exchange.
How do I log in?
On the Login page, enter your email and click “Send Verification Code.” You’ll receive a 6-digit code by email — enter it to sign in. No password required. Need help? Contact support.
Where can I get step-by-step setup help?
Use the TradingView Webhook Setup Guide for TradingView Automation, or the AmiBroker Webhook Setup Guide if you send alerts from AmiBroker (HTTP POST). In the dashboard, use Setup Wizard on any webhook for a guided flow. For MT5, see the MT5 Connection Guide.
Where can I get a PDF of features or how to use Tradesteady?
Features Overview – describes all platform features (webhooks, paper trading, Copy Trading, MT5, etc.). How to Use – step-by-step usage guide. Open either page and use your browser’s Print → Save as PDF to download a PDF.
